MCU Sponsors 1st Annual, We Move New York Basketball Classic Between MTA and NYPD
Madison Square Garden was filled with screaming fans there to watch the first annual MTA/NYPD basketball
face off on Sunday, May 23rd. It was a terrific and well attended event with two separate games
played—the first, a Peewee face off between MTA and NYPD teams, and then the adult MTA/NYPD game.
Final scores were 17 to 2, and 29 to 25, respectively, with the NYPD teams winning both contests.
There was lots of star power there to support the event including former NY Knick, John Starks
(pictured here holding MCU thunder sticks), HOT 97 DJ, Lil Nat, and comedian Dot Com, from the NBC
sitcom, “30 Rock”.
“It was a great day for all that attended,” said Haron Wilson from We Move New York
Basketball. “The thunder sticks given out by MCU were a hit with the crowd as they cheered on
their favorite team,” he continued. “MCU's support of the 1st Annual We Move New York
Basketball Classic was greatly appreciated by me and the MTA employees in attendance.
It showed that MCU is not only dedicated to helping MTA employees achieve financial goals but also
in coming together with friends, family and colleagues.”
