Student Loans

We offer college bound members both Stafford and PLUS student loans to help them accomplish this important life goal. Eligibility requirements for a Stafford Loan:

• Dependent undergraduates
• Independent undergraduates
• Graduate or professional students
• Based on financial need
• Must be U.S. citizen
• No default on any other Student Loan
• School must be accredited

Eligibility requirements for a Federal PLUS (Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students) Loan:

• Not need-based. Made regardless of parent's income.
• A borrower must not have an adverse credit history to obtain a PLUS loan
• School must be accredited
• Credit worthy/parents/step-parents of dependent undergraduate students
• MCU Member

To apply for a Student Loan, follow the instructions outlined in the Federal Family Education Loans Financial Aid Process Guide. MCU Student Loans are serviced by Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation.
