FRAUD ALERT! NCUA Phishing Scam

A fraudulent e-mail message is circulating that claims to be from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). It invites members to take an online survey and get $80 credited to their account. In order to receive the $80, confidential account information must be provided. This type of e-mail message is an Identity Theft scam commonly known as a Phishing scam. If you receive such an e-mail, do not click on the link or respond to it. Instead, notify MCU immediately.

Organizations like the NCUA will never send you an email message and ask you take an online survey and provide confidential account information. Never click on links in e-mail messages that ask you to provide or verify your personal account information. MCU will never ask you to verify or update your account information by e-mail or over the phone because we already have that information. If you think your MCU accounts have been compromised, let our Fraud Department know immediately by filling out and submitting a Fraud Investigation Form.

For more information about phishing scams, read the article, Protect Yourself Against Internet Fraud that we have placed in the Fraud Alert section of our web site.
